Nature Art Camp
Ages 5-11 | August 18 – 22 |9 am- 1 pm
Children will use art as a medium to creativity by using items found within the local ecosystem. They will have opportunities to create from their imaginations as well as participate in organized art projects such as weaving natural materials into crowns, creating magic wands, journey sticks, picture frames, puppets, jewelry, building miniature village homes and farms, creating natural dyes, nature collages, shadow drawings, leaf/bark rubbings and many stick creations. Some art projects may be taken home and for those creations that must remain part of the forest, we will provide photographs of the work the children create.
-
Woodlands Explorers Camp
Ages 5-11 | August 25- August 29 |9 am- 1 pm
Through games, art projects and storytelling, children learn about soil, water, vegetation, fungi, mini beasts, woodland creatures, and even micro organisms! Through observations of the area, we will discuss why wetlands are often referred to as “Nature’s Sponges” and why trees are so important to our ecosystem.
Race4Chase Kid’s Triathlon Program is aimed to provide children with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to discover the sport of triathlon. Designed as a six-week goal oriented summer program, the program provides kids with expert instruction in swimming, cycling, running, strength training and flexibility, and also teaches them the fundamentals of good nutrition under the supportive guidance of coaches, lifeguards and instructors. At the culmination of the training camp, all of the youth athletes come together to compete in a USAT-sanctioned triathlon race.
Application due no later than April 1st. Limited enrollment – applications will be evaluated and selected based on first time registration, a demonstration of need, and those indicating a sincere desire to participate for the complete duration of the program. As part of the program, we ask each participant to collect $175.00 in sponsorships.
