Race for Chase

The Newtown Community Center is excited to announce a, six week triathlon training program to kids called the Race4Chase Youth Triathlon Training Program. This program, which was created by the Kowalski Family in memory of their son Chase, who was tragically killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School is designed to bring to children the same opportunity their son Chase had. He LOVED triathlons and won his first race at the age of 6!

The Race 4 Chase Youth Triathlon Program provides kids ages 6-12 with a safe, healthy, non-competitive environment to discover the sport! It brings together kids of all different backgrounds and educates them on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle, coaches them to develop a foundation of athletic skills, and inspires them to aim high in sports and in life!

Each day participants will practice daily on the Fairfield Hills Campus from 9:00AM- 12:00PM. Participants will utilize the trails, fields and Community Center pools and enjoy games to strengthen themselves as a team, while also learning about nutrition and how to take care of their bodies.

How to Register

Applications for the program are due back to the Community Center by April 1st. Registration packets will be sent out to selected by the end of April.

Fees:

Race4Chase is a free program but we ask that participants meet a fundraising goal of $175 each by July 1st.  We will provide participants with ideas to help them meet their goal.
